Welcome to the first issue of Throughput for 2014. Throughput is the key communication tool for PRCI’s activities. If you are a member of PRCI, you have complete access to all the projects and programs that we have undertaken or are in progress. If you are a non-member, there are many projects that you have access to, and if you would like to learn more please feel free to contact us about membership in PRCI.
In this issue you will learn about a number of projects that have been recently completed and how to use the results. With the recent pipeline , the industry continues to push for a safer and more secure system. Also, as the pipeline industry pushes for zero failures research is a critical part of moving in that direction. In 2013 PRCI released over 55 reports that cover a number of topics:
These are a list of the few projects that we have completed in 2013. Please feel free to explore our website for more information about these projects and the many others that we completed over the last 60+ years. The research has been a key part of the improved integrity and safety of our global pipeline system that is the backbone of our vital infrastructure.
In 2014, we have a number of new and ongoing projects that are going to address a number of key issues facing the industry that will ensure the safe and efficient operations of the system. The projects will be addressing the following issues:
Also in this issue you will meet our new members to PRCI and the company that recently received the the in-kind support award. Alliance Pipeline Limited was one of the 2013 award winners. This award is presented to companies that has gone above and beyond in participating PRCI research projects. We are pleased to introduce our new program managers: Darren Kiekel and Steven Trevino. Kelly Bailey has also joined our team as a Project Control Analyst. Ms. Bailey has been in the association business for over 30 years. She will work closely with staff to ensure timely execution of our research program.
