A literature review on the current industry understanding of mid-wall cracking and its detection was conducted. A summary of key factors influencing mid-wall cracking and modern integrity management approaches for the phenomenon are summarized. Based on the literature review and subject matter expert interviews, gaps in the published industry knowledge were identified.
