Panelist: Mark Piazza, Colonial Pipeline; Don Price, SME; Mike McCutcheon, TransCanada; David Yoel, American Aerospace Technology Inc.; Dr. Vijay Asari, University of Dayton Project Team Leader: Mark Piazza, Colonial Pipeline PRCI Project Manager: Carrie Greaney
The webinar is based on the final report for the last stage of the development and analysis of the prototype Automated Threat Detection System (ATDS). The ATDS is an aircraft-mounted technology system capable of automatically acquiring, analyzing, and communicating data that identifies pipeline Right-of-Way (ROW) machinery threats with high resolution geo-located visible and calibrated long wave infrared imagery in near real-time. The ATDS prototype consists of a hardware package for pipeline patrol aircraft with cameras and sensors, onboard data collection system, and integrated software.
Expected Benefits/Learning Outcomes
During this webinar participants can expect to get an overview of the Conception, the development, and the validation test results of the system, including flight tests on manned and unmanned aircraft. The ATDS is capable of automatically detecting and reporting construction equipment threats in near real-time with a very high degree of accuracy, and provides an improvement to patrol pilot safety by enabling technology to perform tasks and functions previously performed by pilots while in flight.
