It is amazing to think that only nine months ago the Board approved the development of the new PRCI Technology Development Center (TDC) in Houston. This will be building upon our Pipe Repository in Houston that is currently housing over 600 pipe samples and two test loops. The current site has been critical in accelerating a number of our key projects. The TDC will be located on an almost nine acre lot that will include a 30,000 sq. ft. building, a pipe storage yard, and a state of the art Pull Test Facility (with four the parallel lines, over 500 feet in length, and pipe samples ranging from 6-36 inches). The TDC will also include the two current pull loops for gas pipes and a new liquid test loop. These resources will provide our members an opportunity to verify the capabilities of a wide range of NDE tools used by the industry and to begin developing the next generation of tools. We will also be able to focus more closely on technology transfer as part of the TDC. The TDC will have two meeting rooms that will enable PRCI to provide training in conjunction with educational partners. The TDC will be a key part of the PRCI value creation story. For additional information about the current activities at the TDC please read the newsletters on PRCI's website.
