Compressor and Pump Station Technical Committee
The Compressor and Pump Station Technical Committee continues with its execution of 2014 projects with eight of the 15 projects under contract, one project in the contracting phase, three projects actively seeking proposals, and four that need to write request for proposals for open competitive solicitation of proposals. This includes one new project that was funded off ballot: Air Specification Training. This project will develop the training materials and an associated wizard to produce air specifications for lean burn reciprocating engines. The project includes hands on training for up to 12 individuals that will be held in Houston in November 2014.
The next Technical Committee meeting is June 10-12 in Detroit, MI. The meeting will review the status on ongoing projects, efforts to get unstarted projects underway, and the development of the 2015 ballot. Registration is currently open for this meeting.
Measurement Technical Committee
The Measurement Technical Committee continues with its execution of 2014 projects with three projects under contract, two in the contracting phase, and four projects in open competitive requests for proposals. One out of budget cycle project was added: Density Master Meter Field Testing Protocol. This project will cofund API work to determine the feasibility of using a certified densitometer to verify the accuracy of an online densitometer much in the same manner that a pycnometer is used. The testing protocol will define the methods for measuring and reporting the performance of the master meter as compared to the on-line densitometer and the pycnometer. It is expected that this research will result in revisions to measurement standards and the ability to use online density determination methods that are safer to use.
The Measurement Technical Committee will hold their next meeting in San Diego April 30-May 1. The meeting will focus reviewing roadmaps, reviewing the status of ongoing projects, and developing items to be placed on the 2015 ballot. Registration for this meeting is currently open.
The Measurement Technical Committee has recently completed the update of its roadmap for the MEAS-15 – Emerging Gas Supplies Roadmap program. The roadmap is currently open for the project team review and approval. The overall technical committee roadmap is currently under revision.
