This ongoing PRCI project is focused on developing guidelines to provide operators with definitive guidelines that can be used when their pipelines are damaged. These guidelines will provide information such as what is the safe pressure to reduce a dented pipeline, what parameters are important when evaluating dents, what affect do seam welds have on pressure integrity.
This work draws from the perspectives of both the engineering contractor and the operating company. The goal is to provide a single source reference for operators who need to know what to do when their subsea pipelines get damaged. It will provide step-by-step procedures to ensure that the appropriate level of due-diligence is carried out.
As part of this effort Stress Engineering Services, Inc. is conducting a survey of the offshore pipeline industry operators regarding their response to subsea pipeline damage. We are seeking your participation in this survey so that your input can be added to other recently collected data. The link below will direct you to this survey; it should not require more than 10 minutes of your time. Your information will be kept strictly confidential with all results being presented anonymously.
