March 28, 2017 —

Most companies and organizations have a strategic plan document, but it is not the document that is important, it is the execution of the actual plan.  A good strategic plan will be a blueprint for knowing what you want to achieve, how you will continue to evolve, and it will lay out how you will get there.

PRCI is in the process of completing our 2018 -2022 Strategic Plan and it is vital that this does not become a document that is put on the shelf, but it is used as a guide to move PRCI to the next level and enable us to better address the needs of the industry.  The new Mission Statement and Strategic Goals are:

Mission Statement: To collaboratively deliver relevant and innovative applied research to continually improve the global energy pipeline systems.

  1. PRCI will enhance the tech transfer of the research portfolio with a focus on usability and relevance to the operator members.
  2. PRCI will improve the execution of the research portfolio and achievement of the Research Objectives.
  3. PRCI will create a community of collaborative research that enables/establishes a culture of participation for members at all levels: that enables networking, leadership development, and professional development.
  4. Identify, and when appropriate, pursue innovative, step-change, pro-active solutions.
  5. Ensure the sustainability of the Technology Development Center.

In the recent Executive Assembly (EA) meeting, the EA setup Action Teams to support the development of the action items needed to achieve each of the goals.  The Action Teams are comprised of members from the Executive Board, Executive Assembly, and PRCI staff.  Each of the Action Teams will be responsible for detailing the action items including timing and resources needed for completion of each of the goals.
