Join the PRCI Corrosion Technical Committee as they present research results to improve the understanding of the potential impact of Drag Reducing Agents (DRA) on internal corrosion of liquid hydrocarbon pipelines.
The following key learning points will be covered in this webinar:
• Results from a comprehensive literature review and an industry survey, which included potential effects of DRA on corrosion and water and solid transport in liquid hydrocarbons.
• A novel bench-top apparatus designed based on a vertical Couette cell approach, to evaluate the potential effect(s) of DRA on water accumulation and localized corrosion at the oil/water interface.
• Localized corrosion results obtained in the vertical Couette cell, showing the interaction between DRAs (water-based and oil-based) and corrosion inhibitors (nominally water-soluble and oil-soluble) at the oil/water interface.
Presenter: Jose Vera, DNV
