Curt Pedersen has left TransCanada and as such has vacated the Compressor and Pump Station Technical Committee Chair position. Curt had more than 35 years in the oil and gas industry. He was a Key Member of ANR Pipeline's Station Automation Project Team that managed full automation of more than 40 mainline compressor stations. He has a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University and has experience in Mechanical and Reliability Engineering and holds several patents relative to engine emissions controls. He is an advisor to National Gas Machinery Laboratory (NGML). Curt has also served on numerous committees and Project Teams studying ways to optimize reciprocating compressor operations, improve fuel efficiency as well as develop clean air policies and received two "ACE" awards (Achieving Corporate Excellence) from El Paso Energy executive management for his work. He has served as Chair of the Gas Machinery Conference and founded the Compliant, Optimized, Reliable Engine (CORE) Symposium held annually in Houston. His involvement in PRCI started in 1985 and he was involved on and off in the Compressor and Pump Station Technical Committee for 23 years. We wish to thank Curt for his support of PRCI. Don Sawatzky of TransCanada is filling the Chairman position in an interim role and Tom Lumadue of the Columbia Pipeline Group is a new Vice Chair.
