An evaluation was completed comparing the gas compositions and operating conditions where AGA-8 equations of state calculations are reasonably close to GERG equations of state. The GERG methods are generally considered to be more accurate. Using the results of this research will allow operators to determine where upgrades of equipment and systems to GERG would beneficial.
In many cases, operators will be able to continue to use AGA-8 thereby saving significant costs and efforts in avoiding update modifications.
