Richard McNealy comes to PRCI from Freeport McMoran Copper & Gold Inc. where he served as the client representative from 2011 to 2013 during the engineering phase for pipeline construction supporting an expansion to the Cero Verde copper mine located in Arequipa Peru. Prior to the assignment in Peru, Richard had 12 years of experience in pipeline integrity working for PII Pipeline Solutions where he was responsible for new product development relating to integrity management technologies. Subsequent to PII, Richard worked with Blade Energy Partners where he consulted with pipeline operators and industry groups concerning ILI and inspection performance and later at Applus RTD continued development of inspection technology and applications to pipeline integrity. Within his pipeline integrity experience with PII, Blade and Applus RTD Richard has worked with PRCI as a member and also as a contractor conducting research. Richard is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas and Oklahoma and has a degree in metallurgical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
Richard will be assuming the leadership of the Operations & Integrity Technical Committee (O&I TC) and working with PRCI staff, TC leadership, and the TC members to implement the projects and programs managed under the O&I TC. Richard will report to Mark Piazza, Director of Pipeline Programs. Richard will be based in Houston, TX. His initial focus with coming on board at PRCI will be driving the substantial activities in 2013 for the Mechanical Damage Program and completing the cataloguing, inventory, and coordination at the PRCI NDE Center in Houston.
