The overall objective of this research was the development of economically and technically satisfactory concrete/coating/waterproofing systems for low-density weight coatings for offshore gas transmission pipe which can be practically applied by pipe fabrication contractors. To meet this objective the program was divided into the following five major tasks:

• Site Visits (Coating Fabricators)

• Development of Lightweight Concretes

• Evaluation of Waterproofing Concepts

• Field Trials

• Economic Analysis
