Operations and Maintenance Technical Committee research, conducted by NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), related to the Open Path Laser Spectrometer (OPLS). New advances in sensor technology, with high sensitivity towards detecting methane and ethane, present the energy pipeline industry with cost effective ways to improve safety, comply with state and federal regulations, decrease natural gas emissions and attribute natural gas indications to thermogenic or biogenic sources. This webinar will present the results of this research that included both laboratory and field testing.
