Mr. DePriest is Manager, Operational ExceIlence and Risk at Marathon Pipe Line LLC (MPL), where he has responsibility for implementing and continual improvement of its Safety Management System as well as risk management processes. Mr. DePriest joined Marathon Pipe Line in 1985. He has served in various project engineering, business development, field operations and corporate office positions with increasing leadership responsibility, including project manager for a grassroots refined product breakout storage facility, region manager over multi-area field operations staff, product quality manager for Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC), and manager of MPL's integrity management programs. Mr. DePriest earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Ohio Northern University in 1985. He has been representing MPL on the PRCI Board of Directors since 2008 and was elected to serve as Chair of the Executive Board and Executive Assembly in September 2015 for a two-year term through September 2017. MPC owns leases or has ownership interests in approximately 8,300 miles of pipeline, which includes approximately 2,900 miles owned or leased through its ownership in MPLX LP, a master limited partnership formed by MPC in 2012. Also through investments in MPLX LP and its wholly owned subsidiary, MarkWest, MPC owns 5,000 miles of gas gathering and natural gas liquids pipelines. MPC manages one of the largest petroleum pipeline networks in the U.S., based on total volume delivered. The company operates pipeline systems that move crude oil from production fields and other pipeline connections to MPC refineries and other delivery points in the industry. The company also operates pipeline systems that move refined products from refineries to product terminals.
