Date: Wednesday, October 10, 2018
Time: 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ET
Host: Mr. Nikos Salmatanis, Project Team Lead, Chervon Pipe Line Company
Presenter: Mr. Kunal Dutta-Roy, Lead Researcher, Technical Toolboxes Consultant
Panelists: Mr. Joh Van Reet, Project Member, Plains All American; Mr. Trevor Slade, Enterprise Products
Moderator: Mrs. Carrie Greaney, Project Manager, PRCI
The Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI) developed a revision of the API 1149 procedure for the assessment of uncertainty in CPM techniques, in light of a number of recent technological developments and operational requirements. It is also directed at engineering uncertainty factors that prove, in practice, to have a significant effect on LDS uncertainty but that were not thoroughly addressed in the 1993 version. The adaptations to the methodology were adopted and published in the 2015 version of API 1149.
This webinar will provide attendees a demonstration of a usage case for the complimentary software tool that will allow pipeline companies to determine upfront an expected leak detection performance prior to committing to improvements, or determine a strategy for implementation. By utilizing this methodology and software tool an operator can better understand risks associated with bias and uncertainty in their leak detection systems prior to making those operational changes.
The associated software package and users guide is a product of a multi-year research project, which also served as the basis for the updated 2015 API 1149 publication. At the end of the demonstration a panel of project team leaders will provide insights into the value of the 1149 methodology and use of the software tool as part of an operator’s Leak Detection Program Management toolbox.
