NDE Training for Long Seam Evaluation

NEXT TRAINING:  July 21-25, 2025

This course provides an overview of NDE theory and practices specific to pipeline ERW long seam inspection. It covers key NDE methods, including phased array UT, conventional straight beam and shear wave UT, magnetic particle testing, visual inspection, ultrasonic flaw sizing (length and height), and flaw characterization. The course also addresses essential NDE best practices, focusing on system calibration, detecting, identifying, characterizing, and sizing features, as well as strategies for minimizing false calls.

An industry-leading Subject Matter Expert Instructor will guide learners through a combination of lectures, technology demonstrations, and hands-on lab experiences with real and simulated ERW flaw conditions, helping them develop a solid foundation in NDE methods and their application in pipeline inspection.

Recommended background/career experience:
Practitioners certified to ASNT Level II.
Prior experience in multiple NDE methods for ERW flaw detection, characterization, and sizing.

Recommended pre-requisite knowledge:
Understanding of multiple NDE methods for ERW flaw detection, characterization, and sizing.
