The pipeline industry has many exciting and inspiring moments that illustrate its complexity and the dedication of its many members. Share your view through the PRCI Photo Contest, and your image may be featured in PRCI communications, including slides, social media, and related articles.
Submit an original image with a caption that you feel demonstrates collaboration, innovation, and/or safety & integrity in the global energy pipeline industry. While entries are accepted throughout the year, submit by two weeks prior to REX to be considered for this year. Winning photographs will be selected through a combination of popular votes and standard photo competition criteria.
Voting will open for one week prior to REX. Additionally, REX attendees will have the opportunity to view the considered images in person and to cast a separate vote on the event app. All polling will close Tuesday night at 11:59pm of the event's time zone.
Winner(s) will be announced at REX during the awards ceremony and and receive 50% off of their next REX registration! Note that you need not be present to win. Winners will also be announced to the public in a news release and banner on the PRCI website, social media, and in the Throughput newsletter.

RULES
Terms: Pipeline Research Council International's Photo Contest accepts submissions throughout the year with the competition culminating in a showing at the annual PRCI Research Exchange [REX]. To be eligible for competition at this year’s REX, images must be submitted no later than one week prior to the opening of this year’s REX. Images submitted after that date will be considered at the following year’s REX. By submitting an entry, each participant agrees to the rules of the contest.
Who may enter: Photographers who are 18 years old or older and members of the pipeline industry are eligible. Each image must be entered separately. Staff is encouraged to enter but ineligible to win any prizes. PRCI staff have sole discretion to determine an entrant’s eligibility.
What to enter: Submit an original image with a caption that you feel demonstrates collaboration, innovation, and/or safety & integrity in the global energy pipeline industry.
The contestant must certify that he/she is the sole creator and copyright owner of the submitted image.
Cropped images are eligible in all categories. Minor adjustments, including adjusting contrast, toning, slight color adjustment and conversion to grayscale are acceptable retouching. The addition and subtraction of objects and other major alterations to the original image is permitted if disclosed on the entry form. Images generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI) are not permitted.
Photos must be taken in accordance with federal, state and local laws. Photos that violate or infringe upon another person's rights, including but not limited to copyright, are not eligible. Photos that contain objectionable or inappropriate content, as determined by PRCI staff in its sole discretion, are ineligible.
How to Enter: Please submit photographs and requested information online through the PRCI Photo Contest submission form. Photographs must be submitted in .png .jpeg, .jpg or .gif format and no larger than 16 MB. You must complete a separate form for each photo submitted.
You retain your rights to your photograph; however, by entering the contest, you grant PRCI (and those authorized by PRCI) a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to, marketing, exhibition, and commercial products (this includes any sales of products utilizing the photograph), including but not limited to PRCI publications. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible.
Judging: Photo entries will be judged based on creativity, quality, originality, responsiveness to the prompt and overall impact by PRCI staff. An additional category will include a popular vote in a platform available to both REX attendees and non-attendees.
PRCI staff will select the winning and announce results on the second day of REX. The winner need not be present, and will be notified at the earliest possible opportunity.
Prizes: The winner will be awarded a 50% discount to REX, not to exceed beyond two years from award.
Conditions of Entry: All entrants hold the PRCI and their respective regents, directors, officers, employees, emeriti, fellows, interns, research associates, and volunteers (the “Indemnified Parties”) harmless from and against all claims of any nature arising in connection with entrant’s participation in the contest and acceptance or use of a prize.
The Indemnified Parties are not liable for any costs, damages, injuries, or other claims incurred because of entrants’ participation in the contest or winner’s acceptance and usage of a prize. The Indemnified Parties are not responsible for incomplete or misdirected entries, technical or network malfunctions or failures, or causes beyond their control.
Entrants are solely responsible for their entries.
PRCI reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. In the event of a dispute regarding the winners, PRCI reserves the right to award or not award the prizes in its sole discretion.
Decisions of PRCI are final and binding.
